Shared Non-Protected (SNP) Repeater Coordination Policy

INTRODUCTION

In the area coordinated by the Missouri Repeater Council, there are few, if any, 2 meter repeater pairs available.

For individuals and/or clubs who would like to establish a repeater in areas without a normal frequency pair available, the Missouri Repeater Council has developed the following policy to allow the coordination of Shared Non-Protected Repeaters (SNP).

POLICY

All SNP repeaters must be coordinated by the MRC in the same manner as a regular repeater pair by using the MRC Repeater Application process.  SNP repeaters will follow the criteria below:

1. Have an OUTPUT FREQUENCY of 147.000 MHz and an offset determined by the coordination process.
2. Have a MAXIMUM power output (transmitter output) of 25 Watts.
3. Have a MAXIMUM antenna height of 30 feet above grade as measured to the top of the antenna.
4. Have a UNITY gain antenna or have a maximum EIRP of 25 watts.
5. Use a Selective Access on both the INPUT and OUTPUT with the Selective Access Tone or Code assigned by the MRC Coordinator.
6. Have a MINIMUM 90 mile spacing to a regular coordinated repeater.

All SNP repeaters must accept interference from other coordinate repeaters.  SNP repeaters cannot cause continuous interference to normally coordinated repeaters.

PRIORITY ACCESS TO STANDARD REPEATER FREQUENCY

Holders of SNP Coordination will have priority access to standard frequency pairs that become available and can be coordinated at the SNP Repeater’s location.  It there are multiple repeaters that are eligible to be coordinated on a newly available frequency pair, the repeater with the earliest coordination date will be given the priority.
